Organic Gardening 101

  • Juliette Hampton Morgan Memorial Library 245 High Street Montgomery, AL, 36104 United States (map)

April is the month for planting our summer gardens. Join us upstairs in the Adult Fiction Section of the Juliette Hampton Morgan Memorial Library (245 High Street) for a discussion of how to grow your best garden ever - without herbicides or pesticides.

You'll learn what really keeps your plants healthy (spoiler alert-it's making sure your soil is healthy). We'll talk about managing weeds, plant varieties for our hot, humid climate, and ones that resist the dreaded squash vine borer. We'll cover where to find organic-approved fertilizer and other materials. This will be a crash course in organic gardening, and we'll connect you with lots of information and resources to keep you gardening year round.

Outside of the garden, libraries are our favorite places, and we'll likely highlight all the great resources our library has to help you grow!

This workshop is free. Find your ticket here.
